Newsletter

 

Recognizing the importance of communication between fish health workers in the region, the first EXCOMM set high priority on establishing a newsletter as a means of sharing information. FHS Newsletter Vol. 1, No. 1, appeared in 1990, under the leadership of Dr. Mhd. Shariff (Chief Editor). During his term as Chief Editor (1990-1993), Dr. Shariff was assisted by Hassan Mohd Daud, Rohana Subasinghe and Ian G. Anderson (Co-editors), based at the Universiti Pertanian Malaysia.  In 1996, after a three year hiatus in which no issues appeared, editorship was passed to Dr. C.V. Mohan (Chief Editor), assisted by Dr. K.M. Shankar (Co-editor), of the Department of Aquaculture, College of Fisheries, Mangalore, India.

In 1999, editorship was assumed by Dr. Celia Lavilla-Pitogo, with financial and logistical support provided by the SEAFDEC-AQD, Tigbauan, Iloilo, Philippines.
